Privacy & cookies

This page explains how The Ship Aground, Talsarnau, uses personal information when you use this website or get in touch with us. We’ve tried to keep it short and plain.
Who we are
The Ship Aground is the business responsible for your information (the “data controller”). You can reach us at High Street, Talsarnau, LL47 6UB, by email at info@shipaground.com , or by phone on 01766 770777.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through one of our forms (on the Find Us or Private Hire pages), we collect what you give us: your name, your email address, your phone number (if you provide one), a preferred date (for private hire) and the contents of your message.
The website does not ask for or store payment details, and we don’t create user accounts.
How we use it
We use these details only to reply to your enquiry and to arrange what you’ve asked about (for example, a booking or a private event). Our lawful basis is the legitimate interest we and you share in answering your message, and taking steps at your request before any arrangement is made.
Your enquiry is sent to us by email using Resend, an email delivery service. It isn’t kept in a database on the website. We keep the email in our inbox only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, and clear it out from time to time afterwards.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own. To understand how popular our pages are, we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service that uses no cookies and collects no personal information — just anonymous, aggregate page-view counts.
On our Find Us page we offer an embedded Google map. Google sets third-party cookies when the map loads, so we don’t load it unless you choose to accept via the cookie banner or click “Load map”. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising. We use a few trusted providers to run the site: Resend (email delivery), Plausible (anonymous analytics), Google (the embedded map), Vercel (website hosting) and Sanity (content management). Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to how we use it. To do any of these, contact us at info@shipaground.com.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
